After watching “The Future of Baseball” get his second loss against the Atlanta Braves last night, I quickly realized that this Stephen Strasburg fellow might come across as a little overrated. Sure, he doesn’t have much of a defense behind him, but the kid hasn’t done ANYTHING yet and he is already said to be the next 300 game winner. However, I realized that it may not be the “Freshman Phenom” aspect about him that I dislike so much… It is “The Burg” aspect about him. Lately we have been caught in Burgatory and that is all that we hear about.

You are probably asking “Now Chippy Poo, What is a Burg?” And I would say “Don’t call me that” and then pass it off to my girl, M-W:

Burg
Pronunciation: ˈbərg
Function: noun

1 : an ancient or medieval fortress or walled town
2: city, town

But there is one definition that ole Merriam forgot to add… 3: An average or sub-par person or place that has great statistics, but not much quality.

If you don’t believe me, then just look at the proof, it’s in the pudding.

Stephen Strasburg

I thought I would start off with the guy that got me on the topic, the so called “Best Pitcher since Nolan Ryan.” ESPN has been all over this guy for the past year and although he had a stellar college career at San Diego State, he has just been pretty good in the Big Leagues. Sure he has a lot of strikeouts (1.5 average per inning), but he hadn’t played a good team until last night. He currently has wins against two of the worst teams in baseball (Pittsburgh and Cleveland), a loss to the Royals and now another loss to the Braves… without their best hitter! I’m not saying the guy is bad, but I think we need to let him prove himself before putting him on a pedestal.

Pinky Silverberg

Don’t get me started on Pinky up here. In 1927, Fidel LaBarba retires from boxing, leaving his National Boxing Association title up for grabs. Pinky ends up beating Ruby Bradley, #1 ranked boxer, because Bradley gets disqualified from the match. In the very next fight, Pinky is stripped of his title due to an “unsatisfactory showing in a non-title fight.” Looks like you should’ve tried a little harder, Pinky. Maybe you should have had a “Brain.” (That was a terrible joke)

Tom Bergeron

So the “Berg” sound may be at the beginning of this guy’s name, but it is okay, because I have disliked him since the beginning of his career.

Hollywood Squares? More like Hollywood I Don’t Cares

America’s Funniest Home Videos? More like America’s Least Funny Host

Dancing With the Stars? More like This Guy Sucks (that’s the best I could come up with)

Adam Greenberg

I do feel kind of bad for Adam. He has only one Major League plate appearance in his career, and he was hit by a pitch in the back of the head. But look on the bright side, at least you have a 1.000 on base percentage.

Back Yard Burgers

Oh hey, I’m Back Yard Burger. I am always really close to McDonald’s and Taco Bell. No one is ever in my parking lot yet I have still been open for like 25 years. And Chip has never been to me, but he still stereotypes me.

Iceberg

The friggin’ thing sunk the Titanic.

Pittsburgh

Easily my least favorite of the “Burgs.” They have the Steelers, the Penguins, and the Pirates. C’mon who has even seen a penguin or a pirate in Pittsburgh? (Better yet, who has even seen Pittsburgh?) And what is my least favorite thing about Pittsburgh? Ben RoethlisBERGer. Yeah, that is a “Berg” inside a “Burg,” which makes him the worst of them all. Maybe it is something about living in Georgia, but I just feel like I can’t trust the guy around girls.

Truth.

Now

the

Goods!

Although I dislike most people/things with Burg in them. I still like Andy Samberg and Mark Wahlberg. But there is one “Berg” that is better than all of the others:

Wait for it

Wait for it

YEAH!

NBA Playoffs 101 https://korkedbats.com/nba-playoffs-101/ https://korkedbats.com/nba-playoffs-101/#respond Wed, 23 Jun 2010 23:01:22 +0000 http://korkedbats.flywheelsites.com/?p=2123 Professor Adcock is back to give you another test. This time it's about the NBA Playoffs. So study hard and good luck on your NBA Finals Exam.

The 2010 NBA season is officially over, and it ended just how it did a year ago: The King is without a ring and Kobe added another to his collection. I hope you guys paid attention to this year’s playoffs, because Professor Adcock has returned to give you another “Finals Exam.” So put away your books, everyone. Pull out your no. 2 pencils, and good luck.

1. Which point guard played the best in the 2010 Playoffs?

a) Steve Nash

b) Rajon Rondo

c) Derek Fisher

d) Deron Williams

e) Russell Westbrook

(Hey You)

Answer: c) Derek Fisher

Okay, so the guy may have not had as good of stats as the other players on the list, but he was the only one to add to his collection of rings. And don’t forget, he was also the guy that personally guarded all 4 of these “dominant” point guards. Statistics may be important to some, but playing hard work and playing real defense can make up for your lack of points. Take note, Corbin Blue.

Quick Side Note: Kobe Bryant has only won an NBA Championship when Derek Fisher is on his team. Think about it.

2. How many games were held during the 2010 NBA Playoffs?

a) Not enough… I’m jonesin’ for s’more hoops action

b) Probably like eleventy-thousand

c) Only four

d) Once the Bucks got knocked out, I stopped paying attention

is

Answer: c) Only four

Well, this answer is only true for the Charlotte Bobcats, but look on the bright side, they finally won something! Sorry to all the Charlotte fans out there (are there any?), but the very first time that the franchise makes it to the playoffs, they get swept considerably in the first round. Maybe you should get a new coach… Nevermind he is leaving early too.

the

3. Which player from the 2010 Playoffs has the most awesome nickname?

a) LeBron “The Akron Hammer” James

b) Dwight “Superman” Howard

c) Amar’e “Black Jesus” Stoudemire

d) Kevin “The Durantula” Durant

e) Glen “Big Baby/The Ticket Stub/ Oncé-Oncé” Davis

coolest

Answer: d) The Durantula

This was probably the most difficult question on this year’s exam, except for Big Baby, of course. But all of the first four answers are pretty freakin’ awesome. But when all is said and done, no one can handle the Durantula… Not even the MVP, Superman, or Jesus.

4. Who is the greatest player in the NBA?

a) LeBron James

b) Kobe Bryant

c) Maybe even Dwight

on

Answer: TRICK QUESTION… Everyone knows it is Brian Scalabrine.

this

5. But the real question is… Who is gonna win it all next year?

a) The Knicks… only if they get LeBron and Bosh.

b) The Lakers… Kobe… KOBE!!!

c) The Suns… Nash has still got at least one more (Hopefully)

d) John Wall… He is faster than a shotgun wedding proposal in Texas.

e) Dwight Howard… Every little thing he does is Magic.

website.

Answer: e) Dwight Howard

That’s right KB Faithful, I am sticking with the same pick I made for this year’s champion. I guess I was just a little premature. The Magic are going to be much stronger and deeper next season. So look for Superman to save the day… One missed free throw at a time.

Bonus Question for Our Readers:

Who is the ugliest player in the 2010 playoffs?

The post What Just Happened? appeared first on Korked Bats.

]]>
We all reminisce of the old days, when Saturday Night Live was actually entertaining. They had the Roxbury Guys, the Ladies Man, Brian Fellows, and that woman from Burger Castle who told us all to “SIMMA DON NA!”

After these past few months in the sporting world, I feel like we need to listen to her more than ever. It seems that every 15 minutes, the sports world is overreacting over something new. The most recent issue being the whole “conference realignment ordeal (that ended up not being as big as people made it to be).

So as the smoke finally begins to clear, and it appears that the Big Twelve (or Big Ten or Big Twen?) is actually going to stay together, let us take a look back at the past few weeks/months that brought us to this moment so we can find out how we got this college football hangover.

BBD

August 2007: The Big Ten launches its own television network making it the most profitable conference in the NCAA at the time.

August 2009: The SEC begins its very lucrative contract with ABC/ESPN, giving the conference more money than the Big XII, Pac-10, and Big East COMBINED.

January 14, 2010: Jim Delany, the Commissioner of the Big Ten, states that his conference will begin searching for another team in order to have a Big Ten Championship Game over the next 12-18 months.

January 15: Every team not in the Big Ten or SEC wants in.

Februrary 1: Scratch that… some Catholic School that no one watches anymore says they want to keep their “Rich tradition of being an Independent.”

February 9: The Time Traveler’s Wife is released on DVD/Blu-ray

April 19: Half of the Big XII gets drafted in the First Round of the NFL Draft and the Big Ten takes note.

May 24: Rumors circulate that Nebraska, Mizzou, Notre Dame, and Rutgers have been invited to share the wealth with the Big Ten.

May28: Some kid updates his Facebook status and says that “ACC don’t need no expansion”… 15 of his friends comment.

June 4: The Pac-10 invites half the Big XII and the hoopla officially begins.

June 9: The Chicago Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup.

Morning of June 10: Nebraska leaving the Big XII receives more coverage than the Chicago Blackhawks.

Afternoon of June 10: Colorado leaves for the Pac-10 making the entire Big XII South better than the entire Big XII North.

Night of June 10: The Big XII may have anywhere from 0-10 members.

June 11: Jared’s and My Birthday. No, we’re not twins but we are both very good looking.

June 11: The World Cup begins.

June 11: The University of Vermont declares that they WILL be staying in the American East… Whew.

June 13: That same kid from before updates his Facebook status again and says “ACC bout to silence all da haters”… 30 people comment but he no longer has friends.

Today: Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma receive a lucrative TV deal and all three decide to stick with the Big XII (Now just X).

BBD

In Conclusion:

 • The Big Ten will now have a championship game.
 • Texas is now playing making more money and still runs the Big XII front offices.
 • USC minus 30 players is still the best team in the Pac-11.
 • The SEC didn’t do anything and still making more money than most conferences.
 • That Facebook kid probably plays FarmVille.

On The Rebound https://korkedbats.com/on-the-rebound/ https://korkedbats.com/on-the-rebound/#comments Thu, 10 Jun 2010 15:01:01 +0000 http://korkedbats.flywheelsites.com/?p=1995 Chip is getting sad that the NBA is starting to come to a close. But before it is over, he tells us about some of the greatest rebounders of all-time.

The post On The Rebound appeared first on Korked Bats.

]]>
The time of the 2009-2010 NBA season is slowly coming to a close. Within the next six to nine days, basketball season will be officially over and all we will have left to watch are two sports that are dominated by foreigners (baseball and fútbol). Luckily we still have a little bit of time to talk about sports that most Americans actually watch (and by most Americans, I mean myself).

In my opinion, I feel that the NBA is finally starting to become fun again. The playoffs have been very exciting and now that LeBron is a free agent (and by now, I mean July 1st), the league is actually getting some decent exposure. All I can say is that the NBA is on the rebound. So in honor of the league finally starting to become credible again, I thought I would list some of the greatest rebounders of all time (In no particular order, because I’m too lazy/uneducated to rank).

Charles Barkley

Before Sir Charles was the most ridiculous announcer on TV, he was the most ridiculous power forward in the league. Barkley was nicknamed “The Round Mound of Rebound” due to his fat frame and affluence on the boards. Remarkably, the dominating force stood at only 6’6″, making him one of the smallest Power Forwards since Frank and Langley played in the YMCA League.

Brad Pitt

Before Brad Pitt adopted half the population of Africa, he was just some heartthrob married to the girl from Friends (no, not like David Arquette). Brad and Jennifer Aniston had a storybook romance until the two split in 2005. Lucky for Brad, he was able to get the rebound from a girl that was just dumped by Billy Bob Thornton. And now “BrAngelina” are one of the biggest Hollywood power couples and Jennifer Aniston is single… Everybody Wins!

Wilt Chamberlain

Wilt is arguably the most dominant player to ever step on the court. He holds the record for most career rebounds (23,924), led the league in rebounds for 11 seasons, and the guy once picked up 55 boards in ONE GAME! He didn’t really do much on the offensive side though… Only leading the league in scoring for 7 seasons and scoring 100 points in one game. But there is one thing Chamberlain does not succeed at… abstinence.

TYCO Rebound

Have you guys ever seen this toy!?! It was the only RC Car that you could completely flip over and it would keep driving upside down. The thing never stopped. And since the TYCO Rebound was easily the coolest remote control car of my childhood, it deserves to be on this list.

Dennis Rodman

Before becoming the winner of Celebrity Mole, Dennis The Menace was one of the best big men to ever play the game. He led the NBA in rebounds for a league-record 7 consecutive seasons and was known for his physical style and aggressive attitude. But his most dominant showing was in the 1996 NBA Finals, when Rodman recorded 11 offensive rebounds in back-to-back games, single-handedly taking over both of those games. Nowadays, he has been busy with such great VH1 shows as the Celebrity Rehab and Sober House… at least he is trying to rebound his life, I guess.

Martin Lawrence

Ironically, the movie Rebound was the poorest performing movie of Martin Lawrence’s life. It is about a basketball coach that leads a rag-tag middle school team and the rest is history. And by history, I mean Martin Lawrence’s career. After becoming one of the biggest comedians in the industry, he hasn’t been in a good movie since Blue Streak. Let’s hope Martin can rebound his career with Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride.

Dwight Howard

This may be more of a future honor, but Superman is already putting himself in the record books for his defensive abilities. He is already the youngest player to record 6,000 rebounds and he doesn’t plan on stopping there. After leading the league in rebounds and blocks the past 2 seasons, look for this kid to become one of the greatest centers of all time… after Jeff Saturday, of course.

Over this past weekend I was lucky enough to catch the NCAA Lacrosse Final Four and all I can say is “WOW!” For those of you that missed it, an unranked Notre Dame squad was able to make it to the Championship game before finally losing to the Duke Blue Devils in overtime. It was an amazing show of an amazingly underrated sport.

As a former lacrosse player, I have a high appreciation of the sport. However, I know that most people would rather watch Women’s Basketball than some stick-ball game. Luckily, it is the end of the season, so I have some proposals to the National Lacrosse Association so that they can increase their viewers and improve their game.

(Comment if you read this)

1. Duke was able to hold the ball for the last 2.5 minutes of the game… You have got to insert a shot clock.

2. The sport is whiter than a Norwegian Ski team… Let some black people play.

3. Don’t Let Abercrombie come close to you.

4. Male lacrosse players wear a full set of pads and the girls only wear goggles… Guys, Stop Being Wimps!

5. Ride on your sticks and try to catch the Golden Snitch.

6. Don’t let Adam Lambert wear you as armor.

7. Play it on Ice… Never mind, no one would watch that either.

8. The average collegiate players pads/helmet/stick cost over $400 combined… Be Less Expensive!

9. Don’t let your Referees wear rugby shorts.

10. Have a movie with Michael Jordan and Looney Toons.

11. Start calling it “The Crosse” to appeal to English speaking nations and “Le Crosse” to appeal to the French.

12. Don’t Commit Sexual Assault.

13. Let little kids smile in your team pictures.

Good morning, KB Faithful. Sorry for my leave of absence that I am sure none of you noticed, but I have spent the past week in Illinois: The Sunshine State. Besides watching the Lakers/Suns series (excellent by the way), I have kind of been out of the loop in the whole sports world until yesterday afternoon. Apparently fútbol is now a sport in the US, the NFL wants to expand to an 18 game season, and some Asian guy named “Lang Lee” writes for us. This whole change thing is starting to get out of hand, Obama.

Well, it is obvious that the times are changing and there is not a thing I can do about it. So in honor of this progressive movement in the world, it would only be appropriate for give my random predictions for the FUTURE OF SPORTS.

(hey)

The Future of Basketball

 • Point Guards will become the focal point for the majority of successful teams
 • Due to the large amount of support in Asia, Gumby- haired high schoolers will play a year in China before the pros instead of Europe
 • “The Akron Hammer” will become “The Brooklyn Screwdriver” (Trademark Pending)
 • John Wall gets drafted by Wizards and meets Obama… he breaks his leg the next day
 • The NCAA Tournament expands to 347 team just so nobody feels left out

(hey)

The Future of Baseball

 • Bud Selig loses a bet causing Pete Rose to join the Hall of Fame
 • The MLB stops testing for performance enhancers, because guys are doing them just to look cool
 • The New York Yankees acquire the Kansas City Royals as their farm team
 • Stephen Strasburg finally throws in the pros… but he plays for the Nationals so he still gets the loss

(hey)

The Future of Hockey

(hey)

The Future of Football

(Please tell me I’m not the only person that has played this game before)

 • The NCAA expands to a 14-game season, yet they still will not discuss a playoff system
 • An African-American QB finally wins a SuperBowl
 • An SEC team finally loses in the National Championship Game… to another SEC Team
 • Brett Favre finally retires from the game, but thanks to cloning, Brett Favre 2.0 is able to play for the next 20 seasons

(hey)

The Future of Everything Else

Hopefully nothing to do with this:

Maybe Bron-Bron should listen to Chip's advice for once.

The post King James Version appeared first on Korked Bats.

]]>

It looks like LeBron James and the Cavaliers have yet another early exit from the NBA Playoffs… I feel like there is a trend here. After the “unbiased” NBA analysts have been telling us that “something in LeBron has changed this season” and that “this is LeBron’s year,” the ending is still the same. And who was the guy that said there was no chance all the way back in December? That’s right, KB Faithful, it was me.

Now that the Cavs’ season is over, there is much speculation over what jersey LeBron will be wearing next year. And since God has blessed me with my NBA intuition, I thought it would only be right to spread his word. But instead of speaking in NIV terms, I’ll let you all know what teams are most likely to be using the King James Version.

Chicago Bulls

According to most sources, the Bulls are currently the front runner for LeBron. They already have a star in Derrick Rose and their GM has expressed interest in pulling a sign-and-trade with the Toronto Raptors to also acquire Chris Bosh. Almost a perfect match except for one thing… they don’t have a coach. And we all know that LeBron can’t get very far without a coach.

Seattle SuperSonics

So the SuperSonics may not be an NBA team anymore, but LeBron has just as good of a chance of winning a championship for Seattle as he does for Cleaveland… (Zero)

Los Angeles’s Other Team

Another potential team with some great building blocks. They have a very good guard in Eric Gordon and an even better forward in Blake Griffin. Just add some Bron-Bron to the mix and the Lakers may no longer be the best team in L.A. anymore. However, everyone knows that you can’t be a successful Clipper. That’s like being a successful Cavalier… Boom Roasted! That’s two in a row!

Washington Bullets

That is the tallest and the shortest players to ever start in the NBA… Who wouldn’t want to play for this team?

New York Knickerbockers

The Knicks are easily one of the top teams on the LeBron list. They have a large amount of cap space and are located in the largest NBA market, but then you have to remember that they are the Knicks. I mean, they used to be coached by Whoopi Goldberg. They haven’t been great since Patrick Ewing, and they haven’t choked anyone since their Latrell Spreewell days. I would recommend LeBron to this team, but I can name more players on the the Timberwolves than the Knicks*, so maybe this isn’t the best choice.

*Kevin Love, Corey Brewer, and Jonny Flynn of the T-Wolves vs. David Lee of the Knicks

Then Who?

At this point in time, no one has any idea who King James will be playing for next season… not even LeBron. The current front runner is easily the Bulls. But if Bron-Bron really wants to win a championship, then he should probably find a coach who has won a championship (i.e. not Coach Calipari)

Over the past three days, I have done an extensive amount of traveling and have visited five major metropolitan areas. While most people on a trip like this will visit local attractions or eat the local cuisines, I have spent most of my time in the passenger seat of a Mazda Sedan… Jealous? Due to this large amount of travel, I have also listened to a large amount of Sports Talk Radio and have really come to realize that most people that call in to these radio shows have very little sports knowledge. On Monday, a caller was stating that LeBron would win this year’s playoffs. On Tuesday, a caller stated that the Red Sox would claim the Wild Card spot. And just this afternoon, someone said that the 49ers would make it to the Super Bowl. سباق الخيل Although none of these are going to happen, the callers all were so confident that they even added this statement:

“Mark My Words.”

This is may seem like a very simple statement, but it is usually the person making it that is the very simple one. This overly confident guy guy wants all of his friends to go to their desk, find a pen and paper, write down an exact quote, type those notes up, print them off, laminate a copy, and then post in a public place. That is WAY too much work!

I wasn’t being serious, but I am just stating that I hate the statement “Mark My Words” because 99% of the time that person ends up eating them (<– Play on Words). And in honor of all these “well-informed” fans that know everything about sports, I thought I would also post some other recent “well-informed” athletes that told the sports world to Mark THEIR Words.

Sam Cassell

The Milwaukee Bucks guard made a guarantee in 2002 that his team would beat the Detroit Pistons. It was the final game of the season and if the Bucks won, they would receive the #8 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Result: Obviously inspired by their “star guard,” the Bucks lost a very close game… by 34 points. They failed to make the playoffs and have become one of the most inconsistent teams of the 2000s. Maybe they should’ve listened to Ray Allen that year. بوكر اون لاين حقيقي

Hollywood Henderson

The Cowboys linebacker was known for his glamorous lifestyle and his hilarious quotes. When the Cowboys made it to Super Bowl XXIII vs. Terry Bradshaw and the Steelers, Hollywood told reporters that Bradshaw was so dumb that he couldn’t spell cat if you spotted him the “C” and the “A.”

Result: Apparently Bradshaw didn’t need the first two letters… all he need was a “T” and a “D.” Bradshaw threw four of them and also learned how to spell M-V-P.

Nick Saban

Promise #1: “I guarantee that I will be the LSU coach next year.”

Result: Accepted position as the Miami Dolphin’s Head Coach.

Promise #2: “I guarantee that I will be the Dolphin’s coach next season.”

Result: Accepted position as the University of Alabama’s Head Coach

Promise #3: “I guarantee that I will be Alabama’s coach next year.”

Result: To be announced…

Courtney Paris

Most of our readers won’t remember Courtney because she was an NCAA women’s basketball player. But they will always remember her guarantee: If the Sooners don’t win a 2009 National Championship, she would return her basketball scholarship. موقع العرب

Result: Getting knocked out in the Elite 8 and losing 4 years of scholarship money… and setting women’s basketball down yet another peg.

As you all know, we here at KB are always cutting edge when it comes to the latest fashion news (We used to wear throwback jerseys when they were still on sale at JC Penny), but it seems that Kobe Bryant has even beat our amazing fashion styles. In his recent fashion shoot for LA Times Magazine, all we can ask is “What are you thinking?” Luckily I took an ESP course in college*, so I know what Kobe was thinking.

Note: Technically it was Economics of Social Policy, but that’s neither here nor there.

What is Kobe Thinking?

“Hey you there. No, not you, the guy next to you. Hey… What’s up? I’m Kobe.”

“Wanna see my trophies… If ya know what I mean?”

“This probably isn’t a good idea, but who cares? It’s not everyday you’re in a hotel in Colorado.”

“Only I can pull off white after Labor Day.”

“My body is telling me yes, but my face is telling me Hell Yes!”

“This outfit is too… Plain. I should try some other clothes on.”

What is Kobe Thinking?

“This new apartment is pretty empty. It would look way better with a Kobe Bryant #24 jersey. No, a Kobe Bryant #8 Jersey.”

“I call this pose the ‘Thinking Man’. I call this outfit the ‘What Was I Thinking Man?'”

“What do you mean no shoes no service?!”

“These capris feel like short shorts compared to what I wear on the basketball court.”

What is Kobe Thinking?

“I am a Reverse Pilgrim right now.”

“My mom dressed me up like this just so we can have cute pictures.”

“What is more ridiculous? My bow tie, hat, or sweatbands?”

“Make fun of me and I’ll dunk on you.”

(Say in little kid voice.) “This outfit looks more wong then white.”

What is Kobe Thinking?

“Oh snap, LeBron is here. I need to look more gangster, so I’m just gonna put my hood up. There we go, now I look totally awesome.”

“E.T. phone home.”

“I saw that Bill Belichick cut the sleeves on his hoodies. I wanted to one up him.”

“At lease my mug shot will be stylish!”

What is Kobe Thinking?

“Yeah, I look so good right now.”

“Most people rock the V-Neck. I rock the V-Chest.”

(Sing this one) “I’m just a poor boy, nobody loves me.”

“Stop staring at my cleavage.”

“Dressing like this is a good idea.”

What is Chip Thinking?

So I finally was able to get away from the NBA streak of posts and decided to move on to the MLB. Have I been following baseball this season… not really. And since I consider the sport of baseball as “softball for men,” I probably am not the most credible source. However, the current MLB standings do not lie when they say:

Korked Bats is Ruining Baseball.

Okay, so we may not actually be ruining the sport of baseball. But if you write for Korked Bats, then your favorite baseball team is really bad right now (always for some). A month in, some of their seasons look bleak, others have an upside… let’s look into KB’s favorite teams and what the future holds for them.

Austin s the Dodgers!

Current Record: 11-14

The Dodgers probably have the best chance to make it out of this collection of crap. They may not be the best road team (4-11), but they are winning 70% of their home games right now. However, they have to play in a division against Stoners and a team that is “Really High.” I expect them to barely make it out with a winning record: 82-80

Chip s the Braves!

Current Record: 11-14

For Bobby Cox and Chipper Jones’s final season in a Braves uniform, Ted Turner decided to get them a present… One of the crappiest teams in the MLB right now. C’mon Ted, you are one of the richest people in the world right now. Between TBS, Cartoon Network, CNN, and the WCW*, you have to be able to field a couple All-Stars. Like the Dodgers, Atlanta also plays in a tough division and I don’t see them making it out alive: 74-88

*Side Note: Ted Turner actually did own World Championship Wrestling, look it up.

Jared s Kyle who s the Royals!

Current Record: 10-15

I am not sure if Jared has actually dropped the “L Word” on Kyle yet, but I do know that they both are Royals fans (Pause for laughter). Ah man, that was funny. Anyways, the Royals do have an incredible pitcher, but there is a bigger problem… they don’t have a batter/defender/other pitcher. We all know they aren’t going to have a winning season (My guess is 68-94), but I bet I can find a team that is worse…

Frank s the Astros!

Current Record: 8-16

I have no idea what to think about these guys besides “They are Bad.” And not the Shaft kind of bad, more like the Magneto kind of bad (I’m a nerd). The Astros can’t hit the ball, can’t pitch, and definitely can’t score. Sorry Frankie, but you might want to pick a new team… Projected 8-154.
