Vanderbilt Unveils Even Newer Uniforms
In their opening game against the Temple Owls, the Vanderbilt Commodores wore new uniforms with their school’s slogan “Anchor Down” on the back nameplate. However, this year, the NCAA is cracking down on putting words other than the school’s name on the back nameplate, because, they felt the need to add another rule that doesn’t make any sense.

During the game, referees announced that Vanderbilt would be penalized a timeout every quarter as punishment for wearing the “Anchor Down” jerseys. It was then when school officials feverishly worked to print out emails stating that they had already sought and received approval from the NCAA. The school officials then went down to the field to present the documents to the referees and the penalty was taken away, because leave it to the folks at Vanderbilt to show their work.
The next day, the NCAA made an announcement that despite getting previous approval, Vanderbilt will no longer be allowed to wear the jerseys for the rest of the year.
Thus forcing Vanderbilt to get new uniforms. And we’ve obtained an exclusive image of them:
