The NFL Combine Is Allowing Only Virtual Meetings & Workouts, Making The Process Wayyy Creepier

This news sucks for a lot of people. The players, the coaches, the random people who watch this event every year with awe. Personally, I’ve never been an “NFL Combine Guy.” I dunno, something about guys wearing spandex and not playing football makes it feel nothing like football. I’m also not into going to my local YMCA and watching people workout, so maybe that’s where it stems from too? But I do know the NFL Combine is big for a lot of people and now suddenly, they’re going to have to find something else to watch for 5 days in February. They’re going to have to find something to fill their ‘guys in underwear’ fetish. And honestly, where will they even begin to look for something like that? The internet??

All I know, is from an NFL franchise perspective, this whole process seems wayyy creepier now. I mean, it was already creepy thinking that grown men from around the country would fly to a small midwestern city for the sole purpose of watching young men – just barely older than teenagers – run, jump, and play in their underwear. And then ask them weird questions like, “Is your mom a prostitute?

But now?

Now all of that is going to be done virtually? Yeah, no thanks. It’s weird thinking about these same grown men, huddled around a laptop computer screen asking the prospects to “do a spin for me.” Or to think about a “scout” telling one of these guys, “Let me see you jump,” all of which being done through a webcam. It’s just weird.

Also, what are we ever going to do for a whole year without seeing Rich Eisen running a 40 in his suit? I’m shaking just at the thought. Where else will you even being to look for cheap comedy that’s been around for far too long? This website??

P.S. — Speaking of, here are some videos we made last year on the people addressed earlier: Guys Who Watch The NFL Combine (Parts 1 & 2)
