The New ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ Trailer Is Here And I Just Slimed My Pants

I really don’t want to get my hopes up, but these trailers for Ghostbusters: Afterlife make this movie look like it’s really going to be great. The hype around it seems like it’s going to pay off, which is extremely difficult for any kind of sequel not named Terminator or Godfather, but especially for a sequel coming almost 40 years later. I want to plead “please don’t suck” to this movie, but I don’t think I have to from the looks of it.

This second trailer gives us a little more into the story of this movie. After first watch, it appears my theory of this movie following not Egon’s family, but rather Louis Tully’s (played by Rick Moranis) family is still in play. But then I watched a director’s commentary of this trailer where Jason Reitman specifically said it’s Egon’s family, so now my theory seems to be on life support. I do, however, still hold strongly to the theory that Rick Moranis will make a cameo in this movie.

And from the final shot of this trailer, it appears we’re set for – at very least – a Dan Ackroyd cameo, which will be awesome. And hopefully, Ghostbusters won’t make the same mistake LeBron’s Space Jam did and actually give us a Bill Murray cameo too.
