Pick Six: NCAA Football Week 3

Lots of craziness and upsets last week in College Football, it made for some entertaining watching but hectic for any bettor. Truly was one of the wildest weeks from start to finish in recent memory. That Texas and Alabama game will be discussed years from now as one of those “imagine if he didn’t get hurt games” after Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers looked unstoppable in the first quarter before going down with an injury. For the first time in a long time, Texas looked back. We also saw several games go into overtime, and some highly ranked teams go down unexpectedly. However, that’s what the first few weeks of the season are about. We need to fully understand these teams and learn their patterns so we can be confident in our bets. Now, entering Week 3, I feel good about these bets. I am fully expecting to hit all six this week, which means we are all making money this week. Let’s check out what we’ve got.

Oklahoma @ Nebraska Line: OU -10.5

Nebraska is a mess. Oklahoma should be a mess, but aren’t. Oklahoma lost Lincoln Riley, Caleb Williams, and more since last season. While Nebraska just fired Scott Frost after losing to Georgia Southern. They call this a rivalry but it won’t look like it this year. Nebraska’s season was over after week one losing to Northwestern. Oklahoma rolls in this one.

Pick: OU -10.5 Oklahoma 40 Nebraska 20

Ole Miss @ Georgia Tech Line: MiSS -17

I really like Ole Miss this year! Dart looks great, and the offense is putting up points while the defense isn’t allowing many. While it being a Lane Kiffin led team, I’m sure there will be some surprise loses coming down the road, but I can’t see this being the week. Georgia Tech held on for a while against Clemson, but they won’t be able to keep up with Ole Miss and that offense.

Pick: MISS -17 Ole Miss 35 Georgia Tech 13

Liberty @ Wake Forest Line: WAKE -17

Hartman could really be one of the best QBs in college football this year. After returning from a blood clot, he looked great last week. I like this spread and expect Wake to keep tallying the points. Liberty has been barely escaping games lately, won’t be so lucky this week.

Pick: WAKE -17 Wake Forest 42 Liberty 21

UTSA @ Texas Line: Texas -12.5

I originally had Pitt over Western Michigan by 11 here, but Pitt’s injuries at QB and all the questions had me take them off my card. Instead, I’ll roll with the Longhorns after their best performance in what feels like years last week against Alabama. I think they’ll take that momentum from last week and turn it into a win. Give me Texas and the points.

Pick: Texas -12.5 Longhorns 28 UTSA 14

Miami @ Texas A&M Line: TA&M -6

This could end up being a very good game. I’ve got Miami upsetting Texas A&M in this one when it’s all said and done. The Aggies lost to Appalachian State last week, who are no strangers to pulling off an upset, but they just looked horrible. I don’t trust putting any money on that team right now, even if their defense does have the ability and talent to be the best in the country. Van Dyke is a solid QB who should be able to move the ball and put up points. I feel confident that Miami can win or lose by a field goal at the end. Love starting with a six point spot in this game.

Pick: Miami +6 Miami 23 Texas A&M 20

Fresno St @ USC Line: USC -11.5

I saw this spread and had to take it. USC at home and only need to win by 12? I love it! Lincoln Riley has this team ready to go. Before the season, we knew USC was building something special. We didn’t know it would all come together this quickly. They’re already looking like a playoff team. I don’t think that stops against Fresno State. USC is going to keep rolling.

Pick: USC -11.5 USC 45 Fresno State 30

Dog Of The Week: Michigan State Spartans +3.5 against Washington Huskies. I know, I know. Michigan State has historically played horribly in the states of Washington, California, and Oregon. These games never go Green’s way. I think that comes to an end, finally. Michigan State has a great defense, and experience at the Quarterback position. This is a game the program needs to win. Losing this one is like handing the conference to Ohio State and Michigan. Don’t let it all slip away this early. I expect this game to be close, but MSU can win it. Will they? I’m skeptical. But they can! So, I’m taking them this week. Ride or die, baby.
