Last time, we ended with the crew discovering a note in Jesse Hall’s cold, dead hand. It was from Coach Bombay. This is what it said:

Dear Ducks,

I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to the funeral. Also, I’m sorry that I made Jesse and Russ late and untimely, killed them. It was a necessary evil, and that fact that they were the only two black guys on the team is just an unfortunate coincidence.

Anyway, I’m writing you because an interesting opportunity has recently been presented to me, and it involves all of you. I don’t know if you’ve been curious or not about what’s became of me, but since the last time we all saw each other I moved down to Mexico to start over. I met a girl named Rosa, and we were happily together until one day she left to get some groceries and never came home. For months I waited for her, but she never returned. I had all but given up until a week ago, when I got a letter in the mail.

Apparently, Rosa has been abducted by a group of Mexican bandits that calls themselves, “El Chorizo.” They’re part of a burgeoning black market hockey scene in Mexico City, and they knew who I was because of my brief stint in the minors. They asked me to join their team, and when I refused they threatened to kill Rosa. I asked them why they didn’t just ask me to join the team rather than kidnap my girlfriend, but they didn’t really have a good answer for that.

Anyway, I really don’t want to play in the black market Mexican hockey league, but I don’t want Rosa to die either, so I made them a deal. I challenged them to one game. If I win, I get Rosa. If they win, I join they’re team.

That’s where you all come in.

Ducks, we need to get one more win.

I know that you all are retired from hockey and probably haven’t played in years, but I need you now more than ever. Remember what I said that one time that got you all super jacked up and feeling like a team? Remember that? Well, just say it to yourselves right now because I was super drunk when I said it and can’t really remember what it was… but, it worked though! They say that the truth comes out when you’re drunk right? And I was just absolutely blitzed that night so it must have been super true. So, just remember that, and I hope you all have it in you to give me one more game.

You have three weeks to remember how to play hockey and figure out a way to get to Mexico City.

Seriously, I need you all now more than ever.

Love,

Coach Bombay

P.S. Has Fulton come out of the closet yet?
