Korked Bets: NFL Week 7

If you bet with us last night on the College Football games, allow me to start by saying “you’re welcome!” We cleaned up last night. Now let’s keep the momentum rolling with some stellar NFL picks in this Week 7. As usual, I’ll provide a three-pick parlay that I have the utmost confidence in, and will be putting my own money on. Then, I’ll also give a few more picks that I’m really liking. Let’s get to the action!

New York Jets @ New England Patriots

The Patriots already beat the Jets on the road this year and did it without breaking much of a sweat. Mac Jones has continued to improve since then, and Zach Wilson has continued to…throw interceptions. With the whole narrative around the Patriots’ former dynasty: was it Tom or Bill? Bill needs as many wins as he can to help his side of the argument and losing to the Jets is no way to go about doing that. I expect Bill and his defense to come out on top against the Jets. As they say in the old country, “never bet on the Jets.”

Pick: NE -7

Detroit Lions @ Los Angeles Rams

Revenge game! I always love these. Here, you’ve got Stafford and Goff going up against their former teams with something to prove. Matthew wants to prove he’s an MVP-type QB who was stuck with an awful team for a decade, Goff wants to prove that they were wrong to show him the door. Only one can be right, and it’s Stafford. The dude is legit. I expect him to put up major points against his old team. He’ll have the Lions looking for a new QB in the draft next year after this game. Goff won’t get his revenge, McVay will end the night smiling.

Pick: LAR -16.5

Chicago Bears @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This isn’t as much as a revenge game as Detroit vs LA, but it’s still going to play an impact. Was Tom forgetting what down it was last year in this game not the most embarrassing moment of his career? I mean, Deflategate aside, I’d say yes? He doesn’t seem like the type to let this go. I think he’s going to have that in the back of his mind and come out firing against a Chicago Bears team who struggles to get it done offensively and is beat up on defense. Tom will erase that sour memory tonight, winning by at least two scores.

Pick: TB -11.5

Feeling lucky? Let’s do a few more that I want to put money on, but don’t feel as confident in as the previous three.

Washington Football Team @ Green Bay Packers

I’m a little hesitant here because Green Bay still isn’t playing like they’re capable of. Normally, this should be a blow out but I’m not as comfortable with it as I should be. Washington’s defense is good, despite how they’ve started this season. Their offense has potential, but it’s not led by Aaron Rodgers! I’m still expecting the Pack to win by double digits. I’m just not dipping into my 401K to do it.

Pick: GB-8.5

Carolina Panthers @ New York Giants

New York Giants don’t have an offense. They’re hurt. They look like the worst team in the NFL when the Lions aren’t playing. Panthers only need to win by a field goal for it to be a wash…I don’t love it but I’ll take it. Panthers defensive line should be the deciding factor in this one.

Pick: CAR -3

Atlanta Falcons @ Miami Dolphins

Another toss-up game, but I have more faith in Matt Ryan than most do. I think the Watson rumors will get into Tua’s head and affect him negatively. Give me the Falcons to win two in a row.

Pick: ATL -1.5

Cort

Cort isn’t just a sports fan, he’s a sports professional. He’s worked for the NFL, NBA, or his local hockey rink. He supports Detroit teams, which means come time for the playoffs, you can recruit him to root for your team!
