Justin Bieber Performed At A Prison And Played The Perfect Song To Lift Inmates’ Spirits, ‘Lonely’

Justin Bieber knows when it comes to showbiz, ya gotta know your audience … which probably explains the song he chose to perform at a prison — a tune that was sure to connect with inmates.

As we first told you … JB and his pastor paid a visit to California State Prison in L.A. County to support the prison’s faith-based programs — but until we got this video, we didn’t know he’d belted out any hits for them.

Now, we know Justin did a short set during his trip last month, and it included an acoustic rendition of his single, “Lonely.”

“What if you had it all / But nobody to call?

Well, prisoners get one phone call, right? So they probably can’t relate to a song that’s all about being lonely. Right, Biebs?

Look, I respect Biebs – one of the biggest pop singers on the planet – taking time out of his life to go Johnny Cash and sing 3 or 4 songs at a prison when he doesn’t ever have to do anything like that. Mad respect. For real. But my man, Peaches is a banger. Why not bust that song out? Hell, go old school and hit ’em with Where Are Ü Now? (That’s my all-time favorite JB – but technically Jack Ü– song) Or I dunno just any other song that isn’t all about how lonely you are?

Maybe then you’d know me, Cause I’ve had everything / But no one’s listening / And that’s just f–king lonely.”

That’d be like walking into a Jenny Craig and singing Baby Got Back. I love Biebs, but man, isn’t there another song from your *checks notes* SIX studio albums and/or TWO EP’s that could’ve been a better banger for the guys on the inside? I’m gonna go on a limb and say yes. I just hope it’s not too late to say sorry.
