Jets Send Sanchez Subtle Hint

CORTLAND, NY- New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez received quite a surprise when he showed up for training camp this past Monday. He discovered that his playbook was replaced with a copy of the book He’s Just Not That Into You.

Sanchez, who has fallen on hard times recently after leading the Jets to back to back AFC title game appearances in 2009 & 2010, apparently didn’t get the hint.

“You guys are awesome!” Sanchez said to nearby teammates and coaches. “How did you all know I loved this book?!”

The book, which was written by comedian Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo in 2004, focuses on signs that women should pick up on if a guy really is interested in them or not. Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan saw the book as his chance to send another message to Sanchez.

“I mean, I like Mark and all, we’ve had some swell times, but people change, ya know? The whole butt-fumble thing really sealed the deal for me that I wanted to see other quarterbacks.”

The Jets have tried other ways to drop subtle hints to Sanchez, such as the signing of Tim Tebow, the drafting of Geno Smith, and duct taping his locker shut. But to no avail, Sanchez kept showing up at the facilities.

“I admire Mark wanting to try, but jeeze, he is so clingy!” stated Coach Ryan. If this plan fails, then the Jets’ only other option is to move the team and not leave a forwarding address.

“I’ll move the team if need be,” said Jets Owner Woody Johnson, ” but hopefully Mark will buy a clue and figure things out.”

The Jets open their season with a loss on September 8th at home against Tampa Bay.
