I Finally Cut My Hair

If you’ve been following Korked Bats over the last year or so, then you’ve been inadvertently following the growth of my hair. If you listen to The Junk Drawer, then you’ve been hearing the occasional Hair Update™ where I would share little anecdotes of discussions with my wife and how she would want me to cut my hair, and then every time I would somehow weasel my way out of it. Extremely self-serving, sure, but the longer my hair got, the more attached I became to it. Being able to run my fingers through my hair was something I was never able to experience until this global pandemic hit and gave me a legit excuse for letting my personal appearance go. I know there are some fellas out there who can relate. As a guy’s hair grows, it becomes a part of them. It’s probably one of the truest bonds a guy can have with anything outside of dogs and boobs. So while many of you may not get it and may not ever get it, some of you do. And those will be able to fully understand what I went through on Friday.

I recognize that having long hair wasn’t my best look. If someone ever commented on it, I always told them, “This is my I’ve given up look.” Seriously, I used that line more times than dad’s use the “no, I got ’em ALL cut” after they get asked if they got a haircut. But I really didn’t care. I was willing to sacrifice my personal appearance for the ability to put my hair in a ponytail. Which I was never fully able to accomplish either. I was hella close tho. But now I’ll never be able to. *sigh*

With all that said, here’s the before:
