1972 Dolphins Players Pop Champagne After Royals First Loss, Might Be Alcoholics
MIAMI — Many players from the 1972 Miami Dolphins, the only NFL team to go undefeated, gathered together late Wednesday night to pop champagne bottles and celebrate the Kansas City Royals’ – MLB’s last remaining undefeated team in 2015 – first loss of the season.
Lately, the 1972 Dolphins players seem to be celebrating every team failing to go undefeated, no matter the sport. In fact, some sources close to the players suspect they might be developing a drinking problem.

“They’ve been celebrating a lot lately,” an anonymous source said. “It started with just football. You know, like in 2007 when the Patriots failed to go undefeated. But lately, they’ve been celebrating everything.” The source mentioned examples like when Kentucky men’s basketball lost to Wisconsin in the Final Four this year or now after the Royals dropped their first game. The team has also been known to celebrate local high school cross country meets featuring undefeated team.
“They’ll go out to these high school cross country meets drunk or hungover and will criticize the kids,” the source told us. “They’ll heckle the kids by calling them names like ‘fatty,’ or ‘zit face,’ or ‘daughter.’ The 1972 Dolphins are mean drunks. Also, I think one of their daughters runs on the cross country team.”
No word yet on whether or not an intervention will be staged to help the team with their problem.
