You’re Welcome, Steelers. The Titans Just Gifted You Another Primetime Game
You hear that?
You’re welcome, Steelers.
You’re welcome for the Titans sacrificing their own health for you to get not only an extra day (or two) to prepare (you need it, see: Derrick Henry), but to also give you another night in the spotlight. Because we all know if there’s one thing the Pittsburgh Steelers need, it’s more attention from the national media.
Without the Titans catching COVID (or per Grit, the Vikings giving it to them), the Steelers would only have FOUR primetime games. But now? Now they get FIVE, thanks to the Tennessee Titans and their inability to contain any offense yet this season a deadly virus classified as a global pandemic. Pretty sure FIVE primetime games is a hell of a lot better than a mere four. And if there’s one thing Titans fans love (more than hating Adam Rank or Geoff Schwartz), it’s complaining about not having any primetime games. Well, here ya go. You might be out a long snapper, some depth on your defensive line, and a practice squad tight end, but at least you’re getting a primetime game. All it took was a little covid and public humiliation from being the first team to have an outbreak.
Part of me kinda hopes the game gets pushed to Tuesday. Fun fact: the Tennessee Titans are undefeated on Tuesday nights. They’re also winless, but that’s neither here nor there. Give me some NFL MACtion.
If it is Monday however, both teams are undefeated in Monday Night Football doubleheaders this season. Something’s gotta give there. This would be the Monday Night Football championship game, I’m pretty sure. With the Final Four being on Week 1.
So this whole thing could end up being a good thing for Titans (and Steelers fans), right? Well, mostly at least.
