Nor do I disagree that Stern is employed by ALL of the owners. But he SHOULD be able to seize momentum and politic amongst the owners that aren’t stalling to get towards a resolution. He needs to mediate, not cower in fear and blame the Dan Gilbert’s of the world who clearly aren’t capable of running a franchise.

That being said, thanks for the feedback!

you got the wrong guy here….anyone who has followed the lockout has realized by now that Stern has very little control on the whole thing and the ones leading the charge are a bunch of hard-line owners like- among the others- Dan Gilbert, Robert Sarver and Michael Jordan (Jordan, according to sources, is the hardest of them all since he thinks Stern’s offer of a 50-50 deal is too much and he’d like to get a much bigger share of the pie: he does NOT want players to get more than 47%!!)….so those ones are the one you should single out more than anything, not Stern, who by now has little control, if any, on the whole thing. Stern represents the owners, they have the power to fire him since they’re their bosses and if he tries to go higher than 50% owners would walk out and refuse to ratify the deal.

People always try to make it sound like it’s on Stern since he’s the most visible guy in the negotiations, but the truth is the ones you should single out are some small market owners who are leading the charade. Blame them. Stern can’t do much. His hands are tied.
