The United Countries Of Baseball

Nike hit a HOME RUN with this ad (cliché, sorry). It features a map of the United States, only without the United States. Instead it shows the territories of baseball fans across the country. Having lived in numerous places around the country, I can vouch that this map is nearly dead on with the regions for each Major League team. The only thing that could possibly change is the country of Mexico is probably all Los Angeles Dodgers fans, because let’s face it, without Mexican fans, the Dodgers wouldn’t have nearly as many people sitting in their bleacher seats as they have now. That’s not a stereotype. It’s a fact.

Also, I think they gave a little bit too much love for the Washington Nationals. Is anyone outside of Washington D.C. a die hard Nationals fan? I mean, heck, our own president won’t even wear a Nationals hat when he throws out the first pitch at Nationals Park. So that one has got to be false.

I’m nearly positive this is what the early settlers were looking for when the initially set forth on this land. They wanted independence from England so we could start different territories filled with an assortment of colors (some gay, some not). The uninhabited regions make up those states such as Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada. Which, aside from Nevada, I’m pretty sure no one lives in those states anyway. So we can go ahead and give them to Canada. Along with all of our Hybrid cars.

Alright, that’s enough of my rambling, let’s enjoy this new found creation of The United Countries of Baseball!

Also Nike should add Blue Jay territory to the Vancouver area, I went to a Blue Jays/Mariners game at Safeco and not exaggerating, half the crowd was decked out in Blue Jays gear.
