The Trailer For The New ‘Saved By The Bell’ Reboot Is Here

Alright, fine. I’m in. Although, I will admit it will feel weird to be in Bayside without the comfort of a live studio audience woo-ing every time Zack (or in this case, his son) kisses a girl.

The upside to this Bayside: It is refreshing to see Mario Lopez somewhere other than a set in front of the Universal Studios globe hosting Extra. I’m excited to see him stretch his wings for the first time since being that bike cop on USA Network. It’s also nice to see Elizabeth Berkley still has a career after Showgirls somehow got reviews so low, it broke the Rotten Tomatoes meter. I’m glad they actually trusted her with difficult lines line, “Can you believe that was like 30 years ago?”

The downside to this Bayside: It’s exclusively on Peacock, NBC’s new streaming service. And while I tell myself anything Saved By The Bell is worthy of the $4.99/month price tag, I also know I probably will drag my feet to actually sign up for an account. I’ve wanted to watch Jordan Peele’s Twilight Zone reboot for a long time now, but refuse to pay for CBS’s streaming service CBS All-Access. Sucks too, because they’ve also got that Star Trek: Picard series that looks pretty dope.

But I can’t keep caving any time someone comes out with their own streaming service. It’s only a matter of time before McDonald’s and Target have their own streaming services. And you know I’m going to cave and get Buffalo Wild Wings streaming service whenever they come out with one. So just have to put my foot down sometimes. However, with that said, if you talk to me in a few more weeks of quarantine, I will probably not only have Peacock – with the new Saved By The Bell theme stuck in my head – but I will have pre-ordered streaming services that aren’t even invented yet… like Starbucks.

There is no release date set for this reboot yet, but Peacock is expected to begin offering content in July, per the New York Times.

Until then, we always have this:
