The Greatest Baseball Catch You’ll Ever See (Maybe)
Who knew Spiderman was Japanese?
This game is between the Yokohama BayStars and Hiroshima Carp (Intimidating mascots, we know). Hiroshima must be like the Cincinnati Reds of the Japanese national baseball league. I only say that because they wear the exact same hats.
However, in the 5th inning (I think, I can’t read Japanese), Hiroshima’s center fielder, who probably has a name that sounds a lot like dropping a metal spoon down a flight of stairs, leaps up on the wall and literally robs a home run better than anyone has ever robbed anything before.
The funniest thing about this video is how unimpressed the fans in this video are. We already knew Japanese baseball was better than the MLB, but couldn’t these fans show even a little emotion? They act like it’s a routine 6-3, ground-out to the shortstop.
That hit by the BayStars was a shot. An absolute bomb. However, judging by this catch, it appears that Hiroshima isn’t going to let any more bombs drop on them.
…Too soon?
