Tennessee Vols Basketball Spoofed ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’ And Absolutely Nailed It
Slow clap.
Two things about me are true. 1. I love a good spoof. 2. I absolutely hate a bad spoof.
What’s the difference between a good spoof and a bad spoof? It’s pretty simple, really. The attention to detail. And in the parts you physically can’t spoof, the creativity to still execute the spoof. The scene here is the museum scene from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and obviously, they couldn’t enter the museum holding hands like in the movie, so they improvise for this COVID era by entering masked and socially distanced. And the final shot isn’t a piece of art, it’s a Vols basketball jersey. Bra-freaking-vo.
VFL Films – Tennessee’s video department – absolutely nailed this one. The Scorsese of spoofs. They took the scene shot-for-shot and delivered to perfection. Which I’m sure was not easy, especially considering the stars of this video had presumably never seen Ferris Bueller. That’s right. We’re all old.
For anyone who’s never seen the film and/or thought Ferris Bueller was the Los Angeles Dodgers ace, here’s the scene unspoofed:
