Sorry, Instagram Parents, But Kids Will 1000% Remember A Day Watching TV More Than Some Lame Hike In The Woods

This is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure if it’s part of an ad or what – I assume it’s not just based on the goofy looks the kids are giving – but how do you not get a little self-awareness before posting something like this? Look, if you wanna go into the woods, by all means, go into the damn woods. But don’t turn it into some sort of photo op for mom’s social channels. What that sign SHOULD read is “Into the woods we go, because mama needs more likes on her Instagam.” I mean, who the hell brings a letterboard into the woods to begin with??

Crazy, clueless, and self-absorbed parents. That’s who.

I mean, look, do I respect the effort of hauling a giant sign into the woods just to try and make a point? Sure. But all the effort is for not, because the claim on the sign isn’t even true. Kids won’t remember their best day of television?! Are you kidding? This woman must not have grown up with cable. I don’t remember a single hike I went on as a kid, but I can pretty much quote every episode of Full House and Boy Meets World. Hell, I once watched an entire season of A Shot At Love 2 with Tila Tequila on MTV, and I wholeheartedly remember that way more than any Hansel and Gretel skip through the forest. So if you’re going to post cute sayings on letterboards on the woods, at least make them factual.

Plus, look at the kid in the middle too.

That’s the face of dread. You know that kid would rather be at home testing out mom’s false claims. You know he’d much rather be slurpin’ down a juice box while giggling to Peppa The Pig or something than posing for a picture that’s probably going to turn him into a meme and will haunt him the rest of his life. But sure, into the woods we go!

P.S. Speaking of Instagram…
