Shoutout To Weekends
They say you never know what you got till it’s gone. And it’s true, especially when it comes to weekends. As many of you know I started a new gig this week hosting a morning show on country music radio in Chicago after about a year and a half of just running Korked Bats full-time. Now I have a 9-to-5 job (actually a 4-to-afternoon job) again and I look forward to the weekends. Now that I’m back on that saddle (country music pun), I’m reminded of just how great weekends are. That’s not to say I wasn’t working my ass off Monday through Friday while I was solely running KB, but when you work for yourself, you set your own hours of which sometimes never stop. You could be working 24/7 for some weeks. But when someone else is setting your hours (and especially when those hours are before the damn sun comes up), you tend to appreciate the weekends a little more. And I’ve always been a big weekend guy. Massive weekend fan right here. Since the beginning. In fact, if you told me you were also a weekend fan, I’d ask you to name three of its albums. Because I won’t believe you love weekends as much as me. I love the weekend so much, I’ve become a fan of The Weeknd. That’s how much. I love weekends. If you’re a weekday, then you can get the hell out, because you have no place on this blog. I’d go as far as saying Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays might be three of God’s greatest inventions.
Now look, if you’re one of those people who work on weekends and are off on random days like Tuesday and Wednesday, then those days count as your weekend. Make those your weekend. The point is: find your weekend and cherish it.
Enjoy the hell out of your weekend and live life to its fullest. Or catch up on sleep. I don’t care. Do whatever you want. The point is, it’s your weekend. Just make sure to have a good one.
