Rangers Fans More Excited For Dirk Than Actual World Series

The Ranger’s first 2011 World  Series home game is tonight in Arlington and the fans just can’t stop talking about it… not the actual game. No, not the chase for their first World Championship in franchise history, either. There’s something much bigger happening in Texas tonight: Dirk Nowitzki is throwing out the first pitch.

Don’t you get it, it’s Dirk. Remember, Dirk, the savior of Dallas who lead the Mavericks to their country-wide supported defeat of the Miami Heat earlier this year?

Look, baseball is cool and all, but Dirk is bigger than baseball, the World Series and pretty much just sports in general.

If you ask Rangers fan, I bet they’d vote to have him pitch the entire game if it were possible.

It will be fun to watch though, that monster of a human throwing a pitch from the wind-up. And now that they’re actually letting him throw the first pitch, it’s easy to see why fans are so excited. It’s the first home game, it’s the World Series, and DIRK.

Did I mention, Dirk?

It’s been a fun series to watch so far, and hopefully the Dirk will only add to the excitement.  Also, hopefully fans will stay and actually watch the game after the first pitch is thrown.

If I were a betting man, which I am, I say he can probably throw around 90mph… as long as he doesn’t fade away.

Best of luck to both teams and here’s to a great first pitch.

DIIIIIRRRRRRRRRK!!!!
