Rainy Days In Baseball

Dear People That Run Baseball,

It has come to my attention that you get to just postpone games whenever you feel like conditions are less then romantic. This is a problem because people need to know who the best baseball team in America and Canada is. This is a problem because there is no other sport that takes breaks due to weather. Football players play in the snow. Basketball players play inside. Soccer players roll around in the mud and then they get ready to play.

Is it really such a bad idea to play baseball in the rain?

Do you really have to cancel the whole game?  Do you really have to be this wussy? What are you afraid of baseball players? Are you afraid of falling?

Are you afraid of getting your uniform dirty?

Are you headed out to a nice dinner after the game?

Are you worried about fans not showing up because of the rain? (Disregard this question, Marlins)

Are you worried about small woodland creatures finding their way to the diamond?

Are you worried about the game running long and the water doing that thing to your Gremlins and then you have lots of crying baby Gremlins running around?

Well I guess I can understand that. But really please let baseball be over. It’s almost time for spring training already. (Not that I don’t love baseball, calm down Emily.)

With Love,

Erin

Hilarious! Great work Erin. I on the other hand was super happy I didn’t have to watch another game. I figured that the Baseball Higher-Ups finally came to their senses that baseball was the most boring sport ever and gave up and cancelled baseball for the rest of the year. Adam was not too happy to hear my reasoning. :)
Or maybe it was because they are afraid of the Gremlins. Either way I only watch because my husband does. And I think Josh Hamilton has a great story. That is all :)
