If You Need A Smile, Just Watch This Video Of Brendan Fraser Receiving A Six-Minute Standing Ovation

If there’s one person we love here at Korked Bats, it’s Derrick Henry. But if there are two people we love, it’s Derrick Henry and Brendan Fraser. The quintessential GOAT of acting. You want range? How about going from the 2005 Academy Award Winner for Best Picture, CRASH, to being greased up, shirtless, swinging on vines in George of the Jungle. You’d never see Merryl Streep display that kind of range. The dude went from Encino Man to just flat-out being the man.

He received a six-minute standing ovation at the Venice Film Festival for his performance in Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale. Think about that for a second. Six minutes of people standing and clapping for you. That’s both awesome and awkward. I think by about minute four or five I wouldn’t know what else to do. Do you continue to thank the crowd and hit ’em with the ol’ “Aw shucks!” face? It’s like a TV timeout in the third period of a Predators playoff game. Just non-stop clapping and cheering for longer than you think would be possible. But honestly, no one in Hollywood deserves it more than the Frase. This dude has been through hell and finally he appears to be back. Mad respect for everyone’s favorite Dudley Do-Right. If you feel no emotion watching this video, then congrats, you’ve probably sold your soul to Elizabeth Hurley.
