Chip Kelly Always Looks Sympathetic
The Oregon Ducks are fresh off of their Pac-12 Championship winning season, where they finished 11-2. They’re now gearing up to face Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl on January 2nd, 2012. A big part of their success is directly credited to their head coach and how sympathetic for everyone he always looks. Chip Kelly has been the head coach of the Oregon Ducks since 2009. But he has been feeling sorry for people way before then. Whether your telling Coach Kelly that your dog passed away, you grandma has been diagnosed with a severe case of shingles, or that your girlfriend is Helen Hunt, he will feel sorry for you. Frankly, because that is the only facial expression he ever makes.
It makes for a really difficult and even more awkward moment when he’s yelling at you in practice. You don’t know whether you deserve a swift kick to the behind or a comforting gentle rub on the back. Just know, regardless of the situation, Chip Kelly is sensitive enough to sympathize for you.
Here is proof:
“You must be going through a tough time.”
“I’m sorry about your loss.”
“I know how you feel. Bless your heart.”
The only thing Chip Kelly could be thinking of here is
that reunion concert scene at the end of Mr. Holland’s Opus.
“You child is insane. And I feel sorry for him.”
Chip is being read Where The Red Fern Grows book on tape through his headset.
“Your brother-in-law’s face looks like Seal? I’m so sorry for you.”
Listening to the audio of Homeward Bound:
“You mean Shadow falls in a ditch? Does he live through it?”
“I heard about your uncle. I’m sorry.”
“Stanford. I’m sorry. I am.”
