A.D.’s Crown Of The Week Goes To A Cheetah
While Week 12 seemed to last longer than the pandemic (tasteless joke) (also: geez another covid joke), it was very clear to me who my Week 12 Crown was going to even before the Steelers and Ravens faced off in the always rare Wednesday Afternoon game. In fact, my Crown of the Week was decided after just 1 quarter of play on Sunday. Actually, this was probably one of the most obvious Crowns given this year. The one they call “Cheetah,” aka Tyreek Hill, had himself an unbelievable Week 12 performance. I’m sure you heard.

Hill straight up embarrassed the Bucs secondary Sunday. There’s really no other way to put it. Like pants them in front of the entire school cafeteria embarrassment. The Cheetah eclipsed 200 yards in just the 1st quarter WHILE ALSO adding two unreal tuddy’s. In. Just. The. And I cannot stress this enough: 1st. Quarter.

Cheetah wasn’t done just yet. In total, Tyreek grabbed 13 passes from Patty Mahomes for 269 (ha, niceeeeee) yards and 3 tuddy’s. Wow. Just wow. The type of game that had fantasy owners everywhere changing their pants (including myself who went up against former Crown winner, King Henry.)
269 (????) yards is a lot of yards and you may be wondering: is that some sort of record? While many of us were hoping to witness history on Sunday, unfortunately 269 (extremely nice) yards was not quite the record for most yards in a game. That record belongs to none other than Flipper Anderson. Yeah that’s right, a guy named Flipper not only holds the record for most receiving yards in a game but also the record for weirdest name. He racked up 336 yards one time. Tyreek Hill, however, is just the second player since the year 2000 to have 200 or more receiving yards and two touchdowns in a single quarter. Tip of the hat, Mr. Hill (a cheetah print hat, of course).
But the real salt in the Bucs wound was when Tyreek went full Shannon Sharpe.
