A.D. Gave His Crown of the Week to Chase Claypool In Person
Chase Claypool. Mapletron.

If you don’t know his name by now, then you better get to know it. The 6-foot-4 Notre Dame product lit Heinz Field on fire Sunday. Well, not literally, we’ll leave that to Bane.

Chase scored not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 (FOUR) tuddy’s on Sunday.
You may be wondering why he’s been nicknamed “Mapletron?” Great question. Although I agree he didn’t earn that nickname since he received it without playing a snap in the NFL, but it’s a combination of “Megatron” (Calvin Johnson) and “Maple” (Canada, get it? hahaha! classic.). However, Chase may have earned a least a couple “Mapletron” stripes after 7 catches for 110 yards and the aforementioned 4 tuddy’s. I was fortunate to witness the record-setting performance in person. It was the best performance I’ve ever seen with my own 2 eyes. Why was Chase’s performance so impressive, eh?
The only thing that made Chase’s performance that much sweeter, for me at least, was that it came against a bitter Pennsylvania rival in the Philadelphia Eagles. I now have bragging rights for the next 4 years over most of my family and friends who are primarily Eagles fans. Not to mention Gator and Hubb, too. Chase helped lead the Steelers to a 38-29 victory and moved the Steelers to 4-0 for the first time since 1979. Let me repeat: 4-0 for the first time since 1979. My mind was equally as blown as yours. The Steelers have had a lot of good teams over recent years and I was pretty shocked that none of those teams started 4-0.
What did the Steelers do in 1979 after they started 4-0? They won the Super Bowl.
So a congratulations is in order to Chase Claypool, aka Mapletron, for helping lead the Steelers to 4-0, 4 tuddy’s, bragging rights, and for winning A.D.’s Crown of the Week. Well deserved.
